Apple Permanently Removes Alex Jones' InfoWars App From The App Store

Alex Jones took another major blow this week.

Following the bans of Twitter and Periscope, Apple has permanently banned Jones' InfoWars app from its App Store.

Apple has confirmed the removal of the InfoWars application on Buzzfeed News after users have noticed that it was missing Friday night and that it was no longer in the search results of the App Store.

The removal of the App Store should not surprise anyone. In early August, Apple removed five InfoWars podcasts, including War Room and Alex Jones' show, from iTunes and Podcasts application.

An Apple spokesman told Mashable at the time that the company "does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure a safe environment for all our users ".

We asked Apple to tell us why he had finally banned the InfoWars app, but received no response at the time of publication. We will update this story if we do it.

As Buzzfeed News notes in Apple's App Store Review guidelines, the first clause explicitly states that "apps should not contain offensive, insensitive, disturbing, intended to disgust or d & # 39; 39, an exceptionally bad taste ":

In the end, most people can probably agree with Apple's latest decision. Many were left scratching their heads after Jones' podcasts were removed, but the application was not.

Apple statement on the removal of the InfoWars application in early August:
