Apple has removed the app for Infowars, the conspiracy website founded by Alex Jones, for violating the guidelines of the App Store, according to published reports.
Apple could not be contacted immediately for comment. The details of the ban were first reported by Buzzfeed.
The Deletion of Infowars from the App Store follows the announcement made by Twitter last Thursday to permanently suspend Jones and its website from the platform "based on new reports from Tweets and videos published yesterday that violate our policy of abusive behavior, in addition to past violations of accounts. "
According to a Google cache of his deleted Twitter account, Jones had about 896,000 subscribers, while Infowars had more than 430,000.
Prior to the final suspension, Twitter had been scrutinized for its decision to keep Jones and Infowars on their platform after companies such as Spotify, Facebook and YouTube banned all of them from their services. .
"We did not suspend Alex Jones or Infowars yesterday," Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said last month. "We know it's difficult for many, but the reason is simple: it did not break our rules, we'll do it if it does."
Last month, Apple removed all episodes of its show and four other Infowars-related podcasts from iTunes and its Podcast app.
