The couple, whose swirling romance turned into spearheads has fueled the celebrity gossip machine throughout the summer, has separated, said a source close to the singer at CNN.
The pair met when Great Guest hosted "SNL" in 2014.
Davidson and Grande began dating shortly after his break with rapper Mac Miller.
The two men have never hesitated to share their affection for each other publicly, especially on social media.
Once their engagement was made public, they spoke openly about their quick affection for each other.
"The day I met her, I thought to myself:" Hey, I'm going to marry you tomorrow, "Davidson remembered. She was calling my bluff. I sent him a picture [of engagement rings]. I thought, "Do you like any of these things? She said: "These are my favorites" and me, "Sick". "
The couple bought a house together in Manhattan after their engagement.
Grande was also happy to talk about her happy life with Davidson.
In a song titled "Pete Davidson" from her last album, Grande sang: "The universe must have my back, fallen from the sky on my lap / And I know you know that you are my soulmate and all it."
Not everyone was in favor of the couple's relationship.
"Someone wanted to shoot me in the mouth because it's too hot," Davidson told Stern. "Do you know how crazy it is? I was like:" Am I so ugly that people want to shoot me in the face? "
Personal struggles
Before embarking on a seemingly blissful love story, Grande and Davidson were open about their personal struggles.
On Saturday, Grande was to participate in a fundraiser for cancer research but withdrew from the event.
Its director, Scooter Braun, alluded to him in a speech at the rally, saying that Grande was going through a difficult time.
Mac Miller, with whom Grande is two, died suddenly in September.
Chloe Melas and Megan Thomas of CNN contributed to this report.
