Ariana Great Trip, Crying in the Delicious Performance 'Thank U, Next & # 39;

Ariana Grande's first performance, titled "Thank u, next", her breakout anthem that manages to be both petty and empowering, was a very good reflection of her recent life.

There were some bumps and maybe even a few tears, but she persisted (and managed to find pleasure), serving punctual voices as always.

The singer "Sweetner" took the stage in "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this week for the first time since breaking her engagement with the star of "Saturday Night Live" and the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend, the rapper Mac Miller, a drug overdose.

Grande chose to channel the classic musical number of "The First Wives Club", wearing a white wedding dress next to her two alternate singers, to look like movie stars Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Dianne Keaton.

But she ran into trouble dancing around the set, which was to look like a wedding reception, but stumbling when she dropped herself from a chair.

"Oh my God!" Grande shouted as she was recovering from the fall, then continued almost uninterruptedly.

"It's a last / because she's called Ari / And I'm so good at it," she sang without missing a note, adding a self-deprecating laugh.

As the song progressed, she moved into a more emotional territory.

"One day, I will walk down the aisle / I will hold my mother's hand / I will thank my father /" Because she came out of the drama, "she sang. "I only want to do it once, really bad / Gon 'do this shit last last / God keep us that something is happening / At least this song is a success."

But, as the song says, Grande knows how to handle pain. She finished the performance with a smile and danced in the aisles of the stage under the applause of the audience.

"Thank you for being here, it was amazing! It was great, you had a difficult year, we love everyone, we support you," said the host. Ellen DeGeneres after the song.

Grande, who commemorates Miller as an "angel" on the runway, recently paid tribute to him online after a fan sent him a video of the late rapper listening to his song "R.E.M."

"His voice and his laugh," wrote Grande in reply. "He's supposed to be here."
