Comes first baby, then comes the wedding?
In the current issue of We weekly, The single personof Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham reveal that she is pregnant with their first child. Their January wedding is still planned and Burnham works with a stylist Hayley Paige to accommodate his growing baby bump. "The first thing we thought was," Oh, my God. Our marriage! "Obviously, we are not married yet, but that's how things went," says the bride. "And that's probably how it was supposed to happen!"
Burnham says she "had somehow feeling" that she could hope, so she asked a friend to have her take a pregnancy test at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. Nervous, she had the results read to Luyendyk. "Arie came out with the test by hand and tears in her eyes," she says. "It was like:" You're pregnant! " After their first test, they bought six more at the store, just to be sure. "Lauren took them all and all were positive," said Luyendyk, former race car driver. "We have not tried it, but we are very excited, it will be a whole new chapter in our lives."
The first quarter of Burnham was tough and October was particularly "miserable".
"I had very bad morning and I was just coming out of the house," confides the real estate agent. "But over the last week, I've started to feel a lot better, so I'm happy to regain my energy." Fortunately, she says that her fiance "does everything" in the house, which has been of great help. As the couple prepares for the arrival of their firstborn, Luyendyk, 37, predicts that he will be "a sweet boy" as a father. His 26-year-old fiancee is "a bit more disciplinary".
However, Burnham says We weekly, "We are sort of going the way we breed our dogs!"
The future parents got engaged in March, after Luyendyk dropped his fiancée Becca Kufrin on TV. The couple announced the date and place of her wedding in May and shared her engagement portraits in July. Burnham also celebrated her upcoming wedding with a bridal shower in August.
