An 11-year-old boy in Arizona shot his grandmother in the back of his head on Saturday night and then returned the revolver after asking the boy to clean his room, the police said.
Doyle Hebert, who with his wife Yvonne Woodard, 65, had custody of their 11-year-old grandson. Herbert told the authorities that his grandson had shot his grandmother in the head, FOX 10 reported. Herbert was sitting on the couch at the time, according to the report.
Hebert told police that he had sued his grandson for the first time, but had heard another shot when he had returned home to take care of his wife, reported The Arizona Republic. The boy had turned the gun on himself.
The weapon would have belonged to the grandfather.
The authorities are investigating the incident that occurred in a house in Litchfield Park, Arizona, about 21 miles east of the capital. Police said they found nothing that would indicate that the boy wanted to commit acts of violence before the shooting, the channel reported.
