Election Day is in two days, but Maricopa County voters were fortunate to get their vote early in several places in the Valley on Saturday.
Voters stopped in front of five "emergency" voting centers throughout the day to fill out their ballot before the official election day on Tuesday.
Taiwah Vincent, a Phoenix resident, voted in the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Department in downtown Phoenix. She had already shopped downtown, so it was convenient to go there and vote.
Vincent was not particularly concerned about a particular candidate or question. She said that she was more focused on voting in accordance with the ideals that, in her view, would bring about positive changes in the current political climate.
"No matter what party you are in, I think we all see that something has to change," said Vincent.
Others, like 19-year-old James Hend, took advantage of the early polling day knowing that he could not get to a polling station on Tuesday. He had planned to search the candidates on the spot while he filled his ballot.

Katie Glenn and Linda Kavanus filed their ballot papers at the Mesa County Clerk's Office after exceeding the time limit for sending them by mail. was more convenient for their work schedules.
The GOP in Arizona has a strong lead in advance voting data: 41.8% are Republicans, compared to 33.9% for Democrats; 24% are not affiliated, according to the Arizona Secretary of State's office.
But the first results did not seem to have any effect on the voters coming from Phoenix and Mesa.

"I'm going to vote for who I want to vote for, whether they're early or late," Glenn said. "I always go there and I always want my vote to be counted in. I would like more people to understand the power of the vote."
Voter registration has soared throughout the state before the mid-term elections. Figures from the state secretary's office show that the number of newly registered voters this year has more than doubled compared to the last mid-term elections.
The following voting centers will be open from 08:00 to 17:00. On Monday:
- Avondale Town Hall, 11465 W. Drive Civic Center, Avondale.
- Visitor Center of Indian Bend Wash, 4201 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale.
- Department of Tabulation and Elections of Maricopa County, 510 S. Third Ave., Phoenix.
- Mesa Recorder, 222 E. Javelina Avenue, Mesa.
- Tolleson Park and Recreation Center, 9555 Van Buren Street, Tolleson.
