BEIJING – Chinese authorities announced Saturday that at least 14 people had been killed and 27 injured at a rally on the highway. The accident occurred Saturday night after the loss of control of a heavy truck that crashed into a queue of waiting vehicles at a tollbooth in northwestern Gansu Province.
Last week, 15 people were killed after passing a bus on a high bridge leading to the Yangtze River, China, in Chongqing City, in the west of the country.
In this previous crash, a eight-second surveillance video released by the police, the driver and a passenger quarreled and struggled in the moments that preceded the sudden passing of the bus into a traffic jam that overflowed the bridge.
