TALLAHASSEE, Florida – An unidentified man killed at least one person and wounded four others before killing himself Friday night at a yoga studio in Florida, authorities said.
Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo said four people were in critical condition following the shooting.
Tallahassee City spokeswoman, Alison Faris, confirmed that the shooter had died from a self-inflicted bullet wound.
Highlighting the confusion at the scene, a few moments later, a spokeswoman for Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare announced that one person had been killed, one in critical condition and three others in serious condition.
Alex Redding was in a bar in the Hot Yoga studio on the ground floor when a woman ran into hyperventilation followed by a man with blood on her head. Redding said that two to three other people went into the bar to ask for help and that a tall man with a beard was acting strangely in the studio and had started shooting during the class. .
The man with the bloody head told the customers that he had tried to stop the shooter but had been whipped by the gun before the shooter shot himself in the head.

The incident immediately interrupted the campaign to the governorship of Mayor Andrew Gillum, who tweeted that he "was deeply grateful for the rapid reaction of the forces of order in the face of the shooting that took place place at the Tallahassee Yoga Center today. "
"No act of armed violence is acceptable," he wrote. "I am in close communication with the law enforcement officials and will be returning to Tallahassee tonight."
The extent of the injuries of these wounded is unknown.
Megan Nixon was eating downstairs at Riccardo's restaurant when she heard the hustle and bustle on the floor.
"We heard pop, pop, pop. It seemed intense. It did not look like shots, "Nixon said.
About 30 seconds later, she saw two young women rushing to a nearby bar. Then she saw a guy, bloody, rushing.
Nixon said the restaurant owner has locked the door to protect people inside. She struggled to understand the events that interrupted what was to be a family home evening.
"It's terrible," Nixon told the Tallahassee Democrat. "They are in a yoga studio to try to relax."
