Foltynewicz allowed four runs and three hits in two sets. The right-hander hit five and walked two. He managed to get out of the trap loaded with two bases in the first by eliminating Yasiel Puig.

Foltynewicz still encountered problems in the second.

Monitor:

— Not much time. Swanson's status may not be known until Wednesday due to pain in the upper part of his left hand. He partially tore a ligament on a swing during the last week of the regular season and left the game. Culberson, who hit .282 with eight homers in the second half, would be the substitute at the short stop. This would force the Braves to have another player, possibly Ryan Flaherty, on their bench as an infielder.

– Kenley nearest. Jansen has allowed 18 homers this season, more than double his previous career record. He dropped consecutive home runs in the division 's tiebreaker against the Rockies, although he launched with a comfortable lead. Jansen had heart problems during the season and said that he was going to need a surgical procedure. But the Dodgers need him to become his former dominant in the playoffs.

— On the bench. Snitker said he felt satisfied with the availability of Lucas Duda after being limited at the end of the season by a back injury. Duda offers the power of the left side.

– Super Max. Muncy was called in mid-April, dominated his second game and has since been the Dodgers' top scorer. It's all a reversal of a situation for a player released by Oakland and spent 2017 in the miners.
