Three children and two adults were stabbed Friday morning at the New York Daycare, according to a police spokesman.
New York police, Lieutenant Thomas Antonetti, said a 52-year-old woman, who worked at Queens Private Daycare, stabbed three infants – two girls and a boy – as well as two adults, a man and a woman.
Antonetti said that the attacker, who has not yet been identified publicly, then slashed his own wrist.
The victims and their attackers were taken to a hospital where one of the girls was in serious condition. Later in the morning, Antonetti said that this child had been stabilized.

Authorities said at a morning press conference that police had received a call around 3:45 pm that police had previously described as a "private daycare in a house" in Flushing, a neighborhood of Queens.
Upon arrival, the responding officers found "several" people who had been stabbed, including the three children, between 3 days and 1 month old, the authorities said. The police did not explain the children's injuries, but said the adult victim had "stabbed" at his torso and the adult man had been stabbed in the leg.
Several other daycare children were not injured during the attack, police said.
Authorities said the attacker had a left wrist injury, which we thought was self-inflicted.
The police have not yet determined a reason.
But Antonetti said that the attack seemed to be related to some kind of "psychological distress". The woman was taken to the hospital and is currently in custody.
