Following in the footsteps of co-star Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle began teasing Marvel fans.
The title of the upcoming Avengers movie, the last installment of Phase III, has been kept secret.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige had previously told fans that they would have to wait for the end of Captain Marvel's teaser for the Avengers 4 title.
Well, the teaser has come and gone, and the fans are still not the wisest.
Internet has provided fans with all kinds of outlets to speculate on the title.
Reddit was a hotbed of suspicion, and Don Cheadle went on Twitter to join the conversation.
In response to a question from a fan, the actor wrote: "I should not do that, but because I love you so much, I will give you a hint.
"The title will include letters that will be organized in a consistent manner for the express purpose of communicating to the consumer the content of the film. [in] So many problems …). "
THEORY OF AVENGERS 4: WILL THIS HERO SACRIFIT?
This is obviously a blatant pull in the legs and the reaction of the fans was just as slight.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays the role of Bruce Banner, aka Hulk, has achieved a similar cascade – but much more elaborate.
The directorial duo – the Russo brothers – took Twitter themselves to inform everyone that Avengers 4 had finished.
The tweet was accompanied by a cryptic photo that no one, until now, has deciphered but that many people have speculated.
AVENGERS 4: WILL THE FALLEN AVENGERS BE REVIVED FROM THIS THEORY?
Some fans suspected that the picture was that of Adam Warlock's cocoon.
Others have speculated that the bright blue image could be anything from bucky elbow to condenser microphone.
Although the false-teaser of Cheadle is clearly a joke, no one can accuse the man of lying.
Annihilation is the most likely title for Avengers 4, but the Russo brothers might still surprise us.
AVENGERS: ARE THERE ANY WOMEN'S AVENGERS BEGINNING ÉVANGELINE LILY?
Avengers: Annihilation would be an appropriate title, as it responds to Russo's earlier assertion that the title would be a spoiler for Infinity War.
The title is also part of the partisans' theory that the Avengers of the initial generation will sacrifice themselves to bring back the new heroes.
Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr are on the verge of ending their contracts with Avengers 4.
Ruffalo also has a contract of six films, of which Avengers 4 could be the last, assuming that cameos do not count in this final number.
Brie Larson, in the role of Captain Marvel, is expected to become the new face of the Marvel film universe, and his solo film will debut in March 2019.
Avengers 4 was released at the cinema on April 26, 2019.
