Avril Lavigne keeps her head out of the water with the release of a brand new song.
The last title of eight Grammy nominees, "Head Above Water," was dropped on Wednesday, and is inspired by her well-documented fight against Lyme disease. This is the singer's first new music "Complicated" in five years.

She also explained how this experience had an impact on her musical career.

Lavigne's fight with Lyme disease began when she went to Las Vegas with a few friends in October 2014 to celebrate her 30th birthday. At the time, however, she wanted to do more than just party.
