BIRMINGHAM, England (Reuters) – Former Foreign Minister Boris Johnson said Tuesday that the ruling Conservative Party should not "undermine" the British Labor Party's policy and return to its true values: tax and law.

In a speech that will make little noise to say that Johnson, who left the government because of Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit plan, is bidding to replace him, the Brexit defender will urge the party to "believe in conservative values" .
Just six months out of the European Union, May's strategy for Brexit was criticized not only by the bloc, but also by his party, Johnson being one of the loudest voices of protest.
An article in the Sun newspaper even announced that he was exposing his leadership platform with senior Conservative Party officials to announce that he would delay Brexit for at least six months to relaunch the negotiations.
His speech to the party on Tuesday was meant to overshadow May's efforts to present a united front around Brexit and urge his party to engage with the millions of Britons who voted for the Labor Party's left-wing politics during World War II. last year's election, thus depriving the majority Conservatives.
"We must never follow (Labor leader Jeremy) Corbyn, and start treating capitalism as a kind of word of order," he said, according to excerpts from his speech.
"We can not lose our trust in the competition, the choices and the markets, but we must reaffirm that no other system has been able to satisfy miraculously the desires and needs of the human being. "
The Conservatives have been left less confident about their electoral chances after losing their parliamentary majority in the 2017 poll. They now rely on the support of a small party in Northern Ireland to pass laws.
Arlene Foster, leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, which supports the government, said she hoped to see a more positive view of conservatives for post-Brexit Britain, which could give Johnson a boost.

The conservative conference in Birmingham, central England, was a cautious affair over a similar meeting of Labor members a week earlier, when the left-wing leadership had expressed confidence that the party could win elections, even an advance vote.
May has ruled out the holding of early elections – the next is scheduled for 2022 – but his words have not allowed to crush the growing belief that if Brexit negotiations fail or if the Parliament voted against any agreement, an advance vote could follow.
Johnson was ready to put forward what he saw as the Conservatives' winning formula in any election.
"We should set our taxes to stimulate investment and growth. We should constantly aim not to increase but to reduce taxes, "he says. "It's the conservative approach that gets things done, so let's follow our conservative instincts."
