Outlook updated from the Storm Prediction Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Storm Prediction Center weather forecast has EXTENDED the "increased risk" of extreme weather further east of the Cumberland Shelf. Strong to strong storms will move during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The main threats will be wind, heavy rain and tornadoes.

There are ALSO new twists on the timing of storms.

Although a main line of thunderstorms accompanying a cold front is propagating in the intermediate state approximately between 10 pm and 6 am, NEW information indicates that some storms may burst BEFORE this line as early as 7 pm . These storms could become supercell thunderstorms that could produce damaging winds and tornadoes.

This extends our schedule from 18:00 to 19:00 on Monday evening and from 5:00 to 6:00 on Monday morning.

Of course, this is a day and many things can change, but we want to inform you.
