The Cleveland Browns will nominate rookie Baker Mayfield as a quarterback on Monday, according to a Cleveland.com report.
Browns coach Hue Jackson will announce Mayfield as the starter after meeting veteran Tyrod Taylor.
Jackson has publicly stated that he will wait until Monday to announce his departure for the upcoming Cleveland match against the Oakland Raiders. Jackson gave the weekend to the players, and he does not want to announce his entry without first talking to the players.
Taylor was injured in Thursday's game against the Jets and was replaced by Mayfield, who helped the Browns clear a 14-point deficit and record their first win since December 24, 2016.
Taylor should eliminate the concussion protocol this week, ESPN's Adam Schefter sources said.
