BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) – Baldwin County High School students are mobilizing to raise money and raise awareness about childhood cancer.

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and students from the National Honor Society of Baldwin County HS sponsor a lemonade stand every Friday in September at the school. They also set up the lemonade stand during a recent home football match.

On its first day of operation, the NHS raised nearly $ 700 through its school sales and gaming days.

The members were selling from their booth and up and down the stands delivering the cups of lemonade.

A few miles north, the town of Atmore meets to pay tribute to 19-year-old Denver Shuttlesworth, who died Thursday of cancer. The entire city is in gold in his honor, with gold arches sold at local florists. Allow yourself on News 5 at 22h. Monday for the story.
