The elusive street-artist Banksy wants his fans to know that his $ 1.4 million painting was really self-destructive – and that the auction house was not at the party, he said on Wednesday.

But the famous anonymous artist posted Wednesday a video on his website, suggesting that the work should have been completely destroyed.
A hooded figurine builds the mechanism in a studio during the nearly 3 minute clip titled "Tearing the Girl and the Ball – The Director's Cup". The auction and partial shredding are then presented.
"In rehearsal, it worked every time …", notes the video.
The buyer of the coin, a European bidder, chose to keep the job.
