Barack Obama was once out of Disneyland to smoke with his friends

Former President Barack Obama entertained attendees at a California gathering by telling how he had been expelled from Disneyland for smoking with his friends.

Obama, a college graduate, had just finished a concert when he and his friends decided to take a ride on the gondolas while smoking. ("It was cigarettes, people," he added, to laugh.) Two great officers escorted Obama and his friends out of the park for breaking the rules.

"It's a true story, everyone," he said. "I was excluded from the Magic Kingdom."

Chief Executive Bob Iger echoed the sentiment on Twitter on Saturday.

The 44th president made his comments to Disneyland during a campaign rally to help Democrats take over the House of Representatives in the November elections. Obama has largely escaped the spotlight since his departure, but he has been more active on the political scene in the past two days.

At Saturday's event in Anaheim, Obama encouraged voters to remove their "slippers" and put on their "walking boots," according to a report from the New York Times gathering.

"The biggest threat to our democracy is not an individual," he said. The problem is rather apathy and indifference.

Obama blasted President Donald Trump at an event held Friday in Illinois. "We are sure that we are supposed to defend clearly and unequivocally the Nazi sympathizers," he said. "How difficult can it be to say that the Nazis are bad?
