The former first daughter, Barbara Bush, married screenwriter Craig Coyne on Sunday in her family's compound at Walker Point in Kennebunkport, Maine.

A family statement said that Bush, who wore a Vera Wang ceremony dress, was escorted into the aisle by two former presidents: Grandfather George HW Bush (No. 41) and Father George W. Bush (No. 43). His aunt, Dorthy Bush Koch, was officiating. According to the statement, the wedding was a "private family ceremony".

A statement by Vera Wang described Bush's dress as a light ivory silk-crepe dress with spaghetti straps and a draped neckline. Her shoulders were covered with a long Italian tulle cape and embellished with a matching tulle veil.

Monday, former first lady Laura Bush shared a picture of newlyweds surrounded by the rest of the Bush family. (Coyne can be seen to the right of his new wife.)

"Barbara owes her name to a unique and strong woman – and rightly so, because she is unique and strong," said Bush 43 on an Instagram photo released Monday. "@Laurawbush and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent and loving daughter. And we are excited to welcome Craig Coyne into our family."

Her twin sister, "Today's" correspondent Jenna Bush Hager, revealed on Monday that Bush's "borrowed something" was a bracelet his grandfather had given to his late grandmother and namesake, Former first lady Barbara Bush, on the occasion of the couple's 70th wedding anniversary. (She died in April at the age of 92.)

"I'm crying 24 hours later," Jenna said when she called Monday to share details with her colleagues at NBC. "There were so many tears of happiness."

Bush Hager evoked the theme of "tears of joy" in her own Instagram post on Monday, in which she shared a photo of the sisters overlooking the ocean. "Tears of joy, the heart exploded as I watched this beautiful girl get married in the place of love and family."

The 36-year-old bride is a Yale graduate and co-founder of the Global Health Corps, a non-profit public health organization. She and Coyne, 37, will reside in New York.
