CHICAGO (AP) – For most of the season, Khalil Mack and the Chicago Bears defense played solo.
After quarterback Mitchell Trubisky's decisive match on Sunday, the Bears defense and attack seem to be in sync.
The defense made three interceptions and Mack continued to put pressure on the quarter, while Trubisky scored six touchdown passes at the top of his career in the Bears' 48-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"He came and showed why he was the guy," said Mack about Trubisky, who completed 19 of 26 passes for 354 yards.
It was supposed to be a showdown between the top-ranked Bucs offensive in the league and the Bears' best pass defense. Trubisky has changed.
By improving to 3-1 for the first time since 2013, the Bears made a rout by scoring touchdowns on four consecutive possessions in the first period. All went through Trubisky.
Trubisky completed an overtaking of Sid Luckman's franchise franchise against the New York Giants in 1943. It is also an NFL brand that Luckman shares with seven others. The Bears racked up 483 yards in that game, almost matching their record of 488 points in the same game.
"It's very humbling because you know the history of the Bears and how many great players have gone through this organization," Trubisky said. "For me, you are just trying to create your own heritage and try to chart a path."
Trubisky found five different TD receivers in the first half and the Bears led 38-3.
"Our defense continues to play hard," said Trubisky. "It's great to take the pressure and put points on the board."
Mack made a backpack on Ryan Fitzpatrick in the first period. That earned him a sack and forced fumbles in four straight games, the first time since Robert Mathis made it to the Indianapolis Colts in 2005.
Dirk Koetter, coach of Bucs, coached Fitzpatrick in the insertion of Jameis Winston in his first action since a suspension of three games for offense of driving in the league.
Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan had one of three interceptions in Chicago on a Mack-defeated Winston pass, and the defense made four more sacks after leading the league for three weeks with 14.
"It feels good," Trevathan said. "It feels like a complete team."
Here are some things to consider when winning Chicago against Tampa Bay:
PICK-8: The Bears' three interceptions – one by Trevathan, Aaron Lynch and Eddie Jackson – brought the season total to eight.
They have had eight in each of the last three full seasons, which is their lowest level in a season. So the pressure of passage obviously passes through an effect.
"See the guys at the back doing games, that's what you want to see," Mack said. "And be able to affect the quarterback to make them do these throws. It's a good feeling, especially to go beyond. "
DUSTING OFF: Winston's got rid of rust when he replaced Fitzpatrick. Winston was 16 out of 20 for 145 yards but had two choices with a TD pass. Koetter stopped just before saying who would start when the Bucs play again on October 14 in Atlanta, after their week off.
"Probably," Koetter replied when asked if Winston would start. "But we'll worry about it another day."

The porous secondary Bucs was badly hit by wounds, and this has been shown.
Safety for the second year, Isaiah Johnson made his career debut, after Chris Conte for IR and Jordan Whitehead for shoulder injury. Cornerback Carlton Davis aggravated a groin injury during the match.
"I mean, we could not play in the zone, we could not play the man," Koetter said.

Defensive tackle Bears Akiem Hicks will face a fine and possible suspension after being sent off for pushing an official late in the first half.
The incident occurred after Jackson intercepted a Fitzpatrick pass. Hicks was involved in a fight away from the game with a Buccaneer player. Judge Down Mike Carr had separated them when Hicks reloaded and pushed the official, referee Jerome Boger told a pool reporter.
"It was just a deliberate act, when he knew that the official was there between the two," said Boger.
Hicks, who has three sacks this season, was sidelined for a few games before leaving the field. He then threw his epaulettes and jersey into the stands.
Sweet success
Starting quarterback Daniel Chase went into the back field twice alongside Trubisky in a formation. In one of his games, Trubisky shoved Taylor Gabriel for a 3-yard pass.
Nagy said that they had given a nice name to the room during his practice during the week.
"Willy Wonka," he said.
