Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, died in London Tuesday after suffering from cancer-related complications.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif confirmed the death of Kulsoom and said, "My sister-in-law and Mian Nawaz Sharif's wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, are no longer with us.

Hospitalized for eight months at the Hartley Clinic in the British capital, reports released Tuesday morning indicated that her health had further deteriorated and that she had been reinstalled on the ventilator. Nawaz and his daughter Maryam were informed by the prison authorities of the disappearance of the first lady.
