A stacked formation will pay tribute to grunge legend Chris Cornell and his music at a benefit concert early next year.
On January 16, 2019, at the Los Angeles Forum, I'm the highway: a tribute to Chris Cornell Featuring members of affiliate groups at Cornell Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, as well as other big names in rock such as Foo Fighters, Metallica and Ryan Adams.
Jimmy Kimmel will be the host of the event. The proceeds will be donated to the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and the Bullosa Epidermolysis Medical Research Foundation.
Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, November 16th. The purchase will also include a copy of the retrospective album titled Carrel de Cornell, which will arrive the same day and contains unpublished material. Cornell died in a hotel room in Detroit on May 18, 2017, shortly after a performance with Soundgarden. Earlier this month, Cornell's widow, Vicky, filed a lawsuit against her doctor, alleging a repeated, careless order of "dangerous controlled substances that alter the mind."
In October, Cornell's family and former members of the group gathered at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture for the unveiling of a life-size bronze statue of the singer.
