The fight for the US Senate seat between US Rep. Beto O. Rourke (D-El Paso) and incumbent President Ted Cruz (R-Texas) continues to make headlines in the national press. Monday, the political atmosphere warmed up in Houston.

Trump's rally for Cruz falls on the same day as the advance poll, and some Houstonians are feeling the heat of the race that has divided the neighbors throughout the city. While there may be evidence showing that there seems to be more Beto signs than Cruz signs, the Houston's wacky acts to support each candidate are more difficult to explain.

More recently, a man from Houston was filmed in Montrose tearing up Ted Cruz's campaign signs placed on a public property.

The viral video shows the man tearing up placards and shouting "I hate Ted Cruz" in front of the camera.

In mid-September, another owner near Montrose and River Oaks joined forces with a local artist to fight small thieves who had repeatedly stolen "Beto for Senate" signs on his private property.

The man said he captured the thieves of signs in front of the camera and that his neighbor, who is also a local artist, reacted to the small theft by creating an art installation made up of tons of Beto panels stuck outside his two adjacent properties.

On the other side of town, earlier this week, Katy's owners took a more creative approach to show their support for what they call "a hostile district to Democrats" by painting a large sign BETO in black and white directly on the grass. in their front yard.

Earlier this month, a man was surprised by the video surveillance of a resident stealing a Ted Cruz sign on a lawn. The Deer Park police said that they were still actively looking for the thief of the signs.
