The BBC reported that activists – including Equality Now – exerted pressure on Beyoncé's camp to disaffiliate the partnership, underscoring her declared allegiance to feminist principles.

"Beyoncé has presented herself as a women's rights activist. She and her team must look closely at these allegations, "Equality Now's Yasmeen Hassan told the channel in October.

The general presumption is that it is this growing pressure that has forced Beyoncé to sever ties with Green. However, a statement issued by its parent company, Parkwood Entertainment, indicated that the dissolution had been ongoing for some time.

"After nearly a year of discussions, Parkwood acquired 100% of the Ivy Park brand. Topshop – Arcadia will honor existing orders, "the statement said.

Arcadia confirmed Parkwood's story, but a representative from Green did not want to say more. According to many media, Beyoncé and her representatives could not be contacted for further comment.
