The star of the disgraced comedian Bill Cosby on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will not be removed, even after receiving three to ten years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman more than ten years ago, becoming the #emtoo #emost celebrity to be sent to jail. In a statement sent Tuesday to CBS Los Angeles, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said that she "was not removing the stars from the Walk of Fame" because they "are meant to be permanent".
"The stars only commemorate the professional achievements of the recipient," wrote the chamber. The chamber acknowledged Cosby's tarnished reputation by saying, "It is unfortunate that the personal lives of the inducted members do not live up to the standards and expectations of the public."
On Monday, a petition was presented to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove Cosby's star. But the room never fired a star from the Walk of Fame. A 2015 application to remove Cosby's star was dismissed as allegations of sexual assault against her had for the first time resulted in criminal charges.
Tuesday, Montgomery County Judge Steven O Neill pronounced sentence After ruling on the assassination of Temple University's women's basketball administrator, Andrea Constand, in 2004, Cosby was considered a "sexually violent predator". Cosby had been sentenced in April.
"It's time for justice to be done, Mr. Cosby, everything is back to you, the time has come," said O. Neill. He quoted Constand's own statement to the court, in which she said that Cosby took it "beautiful, young spirit and crushed it."
In 2014, The Cosby star has been vandalized, with the word "rapist" scribbled at the black marker several times. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce cleaned up the star.
