Philadelphia-based firm Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis says the 81-year-old still owes nearly $ 283,000 in legal fees. Sam Silver, a partner of the firm, says that Cosby has not paid for almost a year of services. Silver represented Cosby until the beginning of the year, but the firm said Cosby still owed money for services billed between August 2017 and July of this year. The firm filed a lawsuit for the money owed to it and a 1.5% late fee by CNN.
Cosby is now at the Correctional Institute of Pennsylvania, in Phoenix, where he received only one cell.
"We take every precaution to ensure the safety and general well-being of Mr. Cosby in our institution," said the Pennsylvania Secretary of Corrections. John Wetzel says CNN. "The long-term goal is to be placed in the general population to receive the required programs while incarcerated."
Cosby's lawyer, Joseph Green Jr., did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
