Anderson's teammate, Josh Allen, was diagnosed with collateral ligament ulnar collector in the right elbow and is considered "week by week" by coach Sean McDermott.
McDermott does not want to exclude Allen for this week's game against the Colts. Although the injury is not considered a serious injury, it is also a sufficient concern that if Allen is not fit to practice so much this week, the team may play carefully with the quarterback of the franchise. If this materializes, Anderson and number 2 Nathan Peterman would remain the remaining starting options for the 7th week. Given the appalling toll of Peterman and the fact that the Buffalo fan base could have a mutiny if McDermott held out to such a guy, Anderson could receive a nod, even though he signed the week last and has very little time with the game book or his new teammates.
