Bills-Jets Week 10 injury report: Trumaine Johnson ready to return; Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson out?

Here is a look at the Thursday injury report for Sunday’s Week 10 game between the Jets and Bills and MetLife Stadium, plus what it means.

(Click here for the Wednesday injury report.)

JETS

Did not practice: TE Neal Sterling (concussion), QB Sam Darnold (foot), WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle), C Spencer Long (knee/finger), WR Robby Anderson (ankle), NT Steve McLendon (ankle)

Limited participant: LG James Carpenter (shoulder)

What it means: You’ll notice that cornerback Trumaine Johnson (shoulder) was a full participant Thursday for the first time since he got hurt in an Oct. 4 practice. Johnson said he expects to play this week, after missing the past five games. So he is probably back.

Don’t expect Sterling to play. Darnold was sidelined again Thursday, and coach Todd Bowles said he isn’t going to start Sunday. Josh McCown will. Darnold likely will be ruled out Friday, and the Jets will promote Davis Webb from the practice squad.

Enunwa, Long, Anderson, and McLendon are very much up in the air for Sunday after not practicing for the second straight day Thursday.

The Jets not having two top receivers (Enunwa and Anderson) and their starting center (Long) against the Bills’ defense (second in Football Outsiders’ DVOA ratings) could be an issue, regardless of how ready McCown is to step in for Darnold.

Carpenter was limited for the second straight day, but should be OK to play.

Like Johnson, inside linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot) and outside linebacker Frankie Luvu (neck) were limited Wednesday and fully participated Thursday. Both should be good to go for Sunday. Pierre-Louis has missed the past four games. His return should help on special teams.

Backup safety Terrence Brooks (illness) didn’t practice Wednesday, but fully participated Thursday.

BILLS

Did not practice: QB Derek Anderson (concussion), TE Charles Clay (hamstring), DE Trent Murphy (knee)

Limited participant: QB Josh Allen (right/throwing elbow), LB Tremaine Edmunds (concussion), RB Chris Ivory (shoulder)

Sam Darnold brutal in loss at Miami

What it means: No status change for Anderson, Clay, Murphy, Allen, and Edmunds. It looks like Nathan Peterman will start at quarterback for the Bills on Sunday — good news for the Jets. The Bills would prefer to start Allen, but don’t want to rush him back.

Ivory was limited Thursday after not practicing Wednesday. Two other players were limited Wednesday and fully participated Thursday: wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (knee) and wide receiver Andre Holmes (neck).

Clay, Edmunds, and Murphy are starters. Ivory is a complementary back to LeSean McCoy.
