A black family says that a Philadelphia movie director called the police when they tried to get their children back from the theater after getting a refund.
Ismael and Ashley Jimenez told Philly.com that they had taken their youngest son with them to complain about a beep sound during a Friday screening of "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", leaving their three children and two of their friends at the theater.
Ashley Jimenez tried to get the children back but was refused entry. Jimenez says that she went anyway and that the police were called. In a video posted on Facebook, several agents are seen responding. Nobody was arrested.
Cinemark Theaters said in a statement on Tuesday "at no time did the family restrict access to their children". It is said that a police officer who worked at the theater security had asked for additional police, but that one policeman "calmed the situation" and that the family left.
He says that he regrets that the family has not had a good experience.
