The Netflix anthology series has won the Best TV Movie Award over the years.
"Black Mirror: USS Callister" won the movie Emmy for Outstanding TV, making it two years in a row the anthology series Netflix submitted an episode in a film and won the category.
"USS Callister" is the first episode of season 4 of "Black Mirror". Written by series creator Charlie Brooker and William Bridges, the film traces the day to day when Robert Daly (Jesse Plemons), technical director of a video game company and Captain of the USS Callister at night – at the Inside the game that he created. Soon, his virtual colleagues are starting to show signs of life and the science fiction adventure is taking off.
"USS Callister" is nominated for seven Emmys, including writing, editing and Plemons is the main actor. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are being presented on Saturday, September 8th (starting at 5pm Pacific Time) and Sunday, September 9th (starting at 4pm Pacific Time) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. This is the first time that the TV Academy awards the TV movie prize at the Creative Arts Ceremony instead of the Primetime Emmys. More than 50 trophies are distributed over the two-day period and FXX will release a condensed version of the ceremony on September 15th at 8:00 pm. AND.
