Recently, Showtime launched a trailer filled with coke for Black Mondayand now, on the anniversary of the 1987 stock market crash, the premium channel has released a full trailer for the upcoming series. Featuring Don Cheadle (also executive producer), Andrew Rannells, Regina Hall and Paul Scheer, the series casts an almost comical look at the cause of the accident and, as directors Seth Rogen and Even Goldberg say, have a lot of personality and visual stye.
Although Rogen and Goldberg are executive producers of the show – in addition to leading the pilot project – Black Monday is created by David Caspe (Happy ending) and Jordan Cahan (The girl of my best friend). And in addition to the already impressive leading actors in the series, viewers can look forward to appearances by Ken Marino (Wet american hot summer), Horatio Sans (GLOW), Kurt Braunohler (The big patient), Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory), and even Bruce Dern (Once upon a time in Hollywood).

True to the fashion of the 80s, the complete trailer illustrates the exaggerated taste of Wall Street. From the irresponsible amount of cocaine to flashy cars to humble mansions, the trailer itself looks more like a music video than an advertisement for a black comedy about financial malfeasance. The end result is essentially a more aggressive teaser trailer, fueled by its own reserves. In other words, it does not disappoint.
While the teaser had a robot like cheadle, the full trailer offers real interaction between the characters. At one point, Maurice Monroe de Cheadle seems to have managed to convince Blair Pfaff of Rannells to join him in all the ill-conceived plots he has concocted and, unsurprisingly, Pfaff is quite for. The rest of the trailer seems to focus on more of the antics of casting, as it becomes more and more clear. Monroe and his team do not necessarily integrate with the rest of Wall Street. The way this exterior element comes into play is not yet entirely clear, but it gives the show a more interesting angle to play beyond the explosive bags of narcotics and body crumbling on the roofs of beautiful cars. expensive.
No doubt there will be more and more trailers in the months to come, offering a little more insight into the characters and their role in the stock market crash. But for the moment, viewers can rest assured that Black Monday may be the first show not to be missed in 2019.
