It's official.

Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford will make his first start in 10 months on Thursday (7:30 pm, NBCSCH) against the Coyotes at United Center.

The Hawks have been targeting this game for a few weeks. On Wednesday, Crawford is assured that he would be ready to play for the first time since the end of his season on Dec. 23 because of a concussion.

However, Crawford and the team preferred to wait until after today's session before declaring he was ready to return from the concussion symptoms that affected him as recently as last month.

To make room for Crawford, the Hawks will send striker Luke Johnson to Rockford, Joel Quenneville said today.
