I do not see how anyone could face the scarlet tide. They are so effective in attack and have a lot of weapons. All the hype concerns Tua Tagovailoa, and this makes you forget that this team has four legitimate recipients of NFL caliber, including four legitimate ones.-Calibre the halves and the best offensive line of the SEC. A raging atmosphere in Baton Rouge will help LSU early, but Alabama will know it. It will not be pretty in the second half.

Secondly, does Tagovailoa have a pulse? Yes, he does. I do not play against this guy in the regular season. Let's play football.

I will take Alabama. I do it with confidence, but I will not go into this match with the feeling that Nick Saban's team is a lock – as unbelievable as can be the feeling of the two-touch gap to Red Stick.

Alabama could cover the number. The week off for Tagovailoa could not have come at a better time, considering how his knee had bothered him. The attack will be healthy and rested and should be very successful against LSU, despite the fair share of the Tigers in the defense.

However, I am curious to see the confrontation: Joe Burrow and a defense of Alabama that, by its own ridiculous standards, is not as realistic as usual. If Burrow can succeed, LSU has a chance. But I still think that Tagovailoa will overwhelm.

I have a crazy respect for the work that Ed Orgeron did with this LSU team. I know that the Tigers are still at the top of the rookie rankings and should be great every year, but losing so much from last season and getting better is incredible. This is, without the second place, the biggest test that Alabama will have to face until (at least) match of the SEC Championship.

Is it good? Have I already said enough good things about LSU to make the prediction now? OK cool. Bama wins by three touchdowns. The last time a match in this rivalry was decided by more than three touchdowns, Saban was coaching for LSU. But Alabama's run-off defense is better than the LSU's – especially with linebacker Devin White suspended for the first half of the match – and there's simply no chance Burrow will be ahead. Tagovailoa.

I feel as if anyone who takes LSU in this game is just wrong. Alabama is on the biggest university football race of all time and this version is perhaps the best. Take all that is Saban's reputation (defense, discipline and running) and add a transcendent quarterback to Tagovailoa: it's unfair. All this to say this: LSU does not beat Alabama. The tide is favored by a pair of touchdowns in this game, and they will cover with ease.

I have to take Alabama. LSU is by far the best challenger of the Tide so far and one of the top ranked teams in the country for good reason. Alabama's defense is young and has dropped more explosive games than usual for a team driven by Saban. If LSU can be the first team to really put pressure on Tagovailoa and that it turns out to be human, the Tigers could win. But that's just not something we've seen so far.
