Bob Evans recalls more than 46,000 pounds of pork sausage links

(WXYZ) – According to the US Department of Agriculture, Bob Evans Farm, Inc. is recalling its pork sausage product.

The Food Inspection and Safety Service says that about 46,734 pounds of pork stitches may contain pieces of clear hard plastic.

Bob Evans Farm discovered the contamination after receiving consumer complaints about plastic parts.

The recalled products were produced on August 1st and bear EST # 6785.

If you have any of the above products in your refrigerator, discard them immediately.

The sausage links have been shipped to places in states including:

  • Michigan
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Missouri
  • Maryland
  • North Carolina
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Wisconsin

Until now, no confirmed case of illness due to consumption of pork sausage has been reported.
