Malek plays the queen's icon in the new film, which has enjoyed great box office success despite lukewarm criticism. He's about to beat bands such as The Greatest Showman and The Land in terms of global box-office revenue, Queen's music is back on the charts, and Brian May even thinks the lead actor deserves a Oscars.
But Malek revealed in a recent interview with Deadline that the road was long to upgrade.

The project was first announced in 2010 with Sacha Baron Cohen as Mercury, but he left the project in 2013. Malek was chosen for the cast in 2016.
