September 8, 1976: The British rock group Queen at the Ambassadors, where they are awarded silver, gold and platinum records for sales exceeding one million of their single "Bohemian Rhapsody". The group is, from left to right, John Deacon, Freddie Mercury (Frederick Bulsara, 1946 – 1991), Roger Taylor and Brian May.

Why has so much "Bohemian Rhapsody" been so successful?

Representatives of the band's surviving members could not be contacted, but Andrew Selepak, a media professor at the University of Florida, said one of the reasons he was defying probabilities was simply good timing.

The film "took advantage of a release date with limited competition," he said. "Her main competition is" One Star is Born "and two fantastic films," Fantastic Beasts "and" The Grinch, "Selepak emphasized.

He added that the film 's bad reviews had not detracted from its reception because in the social media era, critics are simply no longer a factor as important as before.

"Social media has replaced traditional film experts and word of mouth about" Bohemian Rhapsody "has been positive," he said.

Mara Kuge, president and founder of Superior Music Publishing, said the film worked well in part because its subject was so compelling.

"There is an extremely interesting story in this, especially in the way Freddie Mercury was in the closet until the day of his death," Kuge said, noting that Queen's music has remained popular since 1970s.

The group's call now extends to several generations and sports fans are virtually certain to hear "We Will Rock You" at any match they attend. The band also toured again, with guest singer Adam Lambert.

As far as the general public is concerned, Queen never really left, especially because of her timeless sound and the lasting popularity of their singer.

"We can not deny the beautiful voice of Freddie," she said. "Those strong songs and Freddie's voice shine."
