Bono, Pharrell, Michael Stipe and Laurie Anderson are among a host of musicians who have contributed to a new album by French artist Sophie Calle on her dead cat, reports NPR.
The project of 37 tracks is called Mouse, its felt, which translates as "mouse" in English. Calle mice is available for broadcast via Spotify, but it is also possible to buy it on a LP triple vinyl.
Calle mice opens with an ode to Bono's voicemail, which speaks on a rock rock groove: "She seems to hide all the looks that have ever fallen on her / For her to look like an audience / Sullen and sullen, she sleeps with them / Then suddenly, as if she were awake / She turns her face to yours / And with a shock you see / Tiny, in the golden amber of his eyes. Calle announced Calle mice in June and the project debuted at the Perrotin Gallery in Paris this month. The exhibition also includes a series of photographs and autobiographical texts written by Calle about the death of his cat, but also of his close family and his friends.
