Yesterday evening, Elon Musk, super entrepreneur and addicted to Twitter has posted some fascinating images of the tunnel created in Los Angeles by its infrastructure company, Boring Company, almost two years old, the first of four planned projects that, according to the promises of Musk, will reduce congestion in the most populated cities.
Musk also tweeted – not for the first time – that the company would unveil to the public the fast transit tunnel section located in the southern suburb of Hawthorne, in the state of LA, on Dec. 5, in about five weeks. Musk's idea is to hold an opening ceremony that evening, followed by free tours for the public the next day – though only the bravest ones need to register. Musk said earlier that the system would be able to whip pedestrians, cyclists and private vehicles at speeds of up to 155 mph.
Finally, if all goes according to plan, they will travel via an electric propulsion platform called skate, which will include either a vehicle carrying up to 16 passengers, or a person able to support a car that has been driven on it. The elevators will move between these skates and the street level.
Musk has not yet said how long a stretch was built, but simply called it "of a worrisome length".
