An employee of Roseville's bowling alley was hit, hit by a stool and a bowling ball after asking an unruly group to leave, police said.

Police are trying to identify one of the attackers and publish a video of the assault on Friday.

They said that people were playing Apollo Lanes, 29410 Gratiot, around 11:45 pm. Wednesday when they created a disturbance and were invited to leave.

Several members of the group circled the counter where the employee was standing. One of them approached the counter and hit the employee in the face, police said. Another, who went behind the counter, started hitting and hitting the employee to the face and body.

The first attacker walked behind the counter, took a bar stool and hit the employee in the head. Then he picked up a bowling ball and "crushed" it on the back of the employee's head, police said.

The employee, a resident of Roseville aged 28, fell to the ground. The attackers continued to hit the employee in the head before escaping. The employee was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

The detectives have identified a suspect but are looking to identify the man who hit the employee with the stool and the bowling ball.

The police describe him as a black man in his early twenties, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a white t-shirt with a black short-sleeved shirt over the shirt, and black pants. He had a shaved beard closely and tattoos on his arms.

Anyone with information about the assault or the identity of the man is asked to call 586-447-4510 or 586-447-4484.
