You could never put one on Mr. Feeny, and a potential burglar learned it at his expense.

William Daniels, known for his role in "Boy Meets World" and his voice as K.I.T.T. in "Knight Rider", scared someone who had tried to bring him home on Saturday.

The 91-year-old actor was at home with his 89-year-old wife Bonnie Bartlett, when a person was forced to open a back door, according to the same source. Fox News and WJLA of ABC. Daniels acted quickly by turning on the lights in the house, which would have scared the intruder.

"Fortunately, Mr. Daniels was able to scare the person and the LAPD quickly responded," confirmed the Daniels representative in a statement. "They're both fine, Mr. Daniels thanks all his fans for their concern."

USA TODAY has turned to the Los Angeles Police Department for comments.

Daniels' student, Will Friedle, who plays Eric Matthews, has recognized the courage of his former co-star on Twitter. Friedle tweeted: "Never play with Mr. Feeny!"

Daniels played the caring school teacher, Mr. Feeny, throughout the show, from 1993 to 2000. Earlier in his career, he worked as Dr. Mark Craig on "St. Elsewhere". More recently, he appeared in "Gray's Anatomy" in 2012 and he resumed his role as Feeny in five episodes of the short film "Girl Meets World", which was canceled in 2017.
