Brady, Rodgers duel highlights NFL weekend

Los Angeles (AFP) – Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers go head-to-head for the third time on Sunday as the New England Patriots face the Green Bay Packers in a rare collision of the NFL.

Five-time Super Bowl Champion Brady and Packers Counterpart Rodgers have gone down to 2014 when Rodgers threw for 368 yards in a 26-21 victory over the Patriots.

No Comments Before, when the Rodgers came to replace Brett Favre in a 35-0 pounding by the Patriots at Lambeau Field in 2006.

Since then, the NFC's fixture schedule, and the failure of the NFC Packers and AFC's Patriots to meet a Super Bowl, have ensured that Brady and Rodgers have been kept apart.

While Rodgers has only one super Bowl ring to Brady's five, the 35-year-old Green Bay quarterback is widely regarded as a shoo-in for the NFL's Hall of Fame.

Count Brady, 41, among Rodgers' biggest admirers.

"I think Aaron does not have enough done, or can do, just because of his physical ability," Brady said in a 2017 interview. "Some of the plays he makes are just phenomenal."

Speaking this week about their forthcoming match-up, however, was much more important than any other issue in the world, when Rodgers went out to claim the "G.O.A.T" (Greatest of All Time) when it came to ranking quarterbacks.

"I think it's actually a hypothetical question that's just really impossible to answer," Brady told Boston radio station WEEI.

"It's great to debate it, and those types of things." I do not think about, "Oh, was this guy better than this guy or this guy?" I guess I'm an athlete and I realize it's a lot of teamwork, there's a lot of things that go into helping your team win.

"I think it's impossible to answer, but I think Aaron's one of the best ever to play the game.

Rodgers is similarly uninterested by any discussion of where the two men rank in the pantheon of quarterback greats.

"I let you guys worry about those types of conversations," Rodgers said.

"I think that's an end-of-career conversation." "I'm just worried about winning right now." "He's got five championships, so that ends most discussions, I think."

Mike McCarthy said this weekend's showdown evokes the classic Joe Montana and John Elway.

"It's a contest everyone is looking forward to," McCarthy said. "You're in the mood for the best of all-time." "If you wanted to study how to play a quarterback then you need to watch on Sunday night."

After playing the game at Foxboro on Sunday, we played a game of five-game winning streak that we had seen in their home position at the AFC East at 6-2.

The Packers meanwhile are struggling to find consistency, with a defeat to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday leaving the third in the NFC North with three wins, three defeats and a tie.

The Rams, meanwhile, will once again have their way to Louisiana to face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

While the Rams are heading towards the playoffs with an 8-0 record to lead the NFC West, they are likely to face another demanding test against the Drew Brees-inspired Saints, who lead the NFC South on 6-1.

Saints quarterback Brees, 39, is showing no signs of slowing down and becoming NFL's all-time passing leader.

"In terms of timing, the rhythm, accuracy and anticipation, Drew is one of the best of all time at that," Rams coach Sean McVay said. "So, it's going to be a great challenge."
