Brewers, Dodgers play the respective roles of Division Heads

It all boils down to this. The last day of the regular season is upon us and NL Central and NL West are sure to be tied.

The Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers must be thanked for creating the potential chaos. Although hopes are not there due to the elimination of the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, there is still potential for two break-ups in division on Monday.

In NL Central, the Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs for the first time since July 13 after dominating the Detroit Tigers at Miller Park. Christian Yelich remained hot and hit Milwaukee. The Cubs lost earlier in the day to the Cardinals. That would be a small consolation for the Cardinals, but they have a chance to spoil the hopes of the Cubs division title.

The same is true in the west of the country. However, so far this weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers have denied the San Francisco Giants by winning the first two games of the series. Saturday's win saw the Dodgers qualify for the sixth straight time in the playoffs. The Rockies' eight-game winning streak ended in a loss to the Washington Nationals.

The Dodgers will decide between Rich Hill and Walker Buehler for Sunday's start against the Giants. San Francisco has Andrew Suarez (7-12, 4.22) locked up. Here is where it becomes interesting. Even if the Rockies did not choose to start, the Nationals would launch Max Scherzer, winner of three Cy Young Awards, if the match had an impact on the ranking. However, there was a change of heart there.

All Sunday games will start between 15:05 and 15:15 ET.

If there is a tiebreaker game on Monday, it will be played at 16:09. AND.

In the event that there would be two tiebreakers on Monday, the Brewers / Cubs game would be played at 1:05 pm. AND and the game Rockies / Dodgers would start at 16:09 ET. All tiebreakers will be broadcast on ESPN.
