Weddings are usually a melodramatic affair, but this maid of honor who was thrown by the bride in the worst way possible could take the cake.

The maid of honor, Courtney Duffy, went viral Friday when she tweeted her cross-country flight tickets for the wedding because she was asked to "give up" to her "maid of honor duties". Duffy included the horrible email that she had received the day before from the future bride.

laugh and cry and must avoid this marriage at all costs, "wrote Duffy. "Pls help?"

The attached email from Alex is a passive-request Aggressive for Duffy to resign from the bridesmaid position because she would not be able to attend the wedding weekend, apparently due to a school conflict. Worse, Alex asks Duffy to return his bridesmaid suit (yes, jumpsuit) so that a substitute friend can wear it.

"Please do not feel like you're letting me down, I'm asking you to do that" Alex writes in e-mail

Thankfully, JetBlue quickly came to the rescue of Duffy and asked him to contact the company to find something, but it is unclear what the airline did to help. Neither Duffy nor JetBlue immediately responded to the Daily Dot's request for comment.

Meanwhile, Twitter's people have rallied behind Duffy, encouraging him to give up his so-called friend and take a vacation instead.

And note to the future brides: Twitter really hate the idea of a combination of bridesmaid d & rd; honor.
