On Tuesday, Detroit Tigers regular television guys Mario Impemba and Rod Allen called the Chicago game.

On Wednesday, in a rare quarter-series, they could not be found.

We begin to learn why.

The Athletic reports that there was a physical incident between Impemba and Allen after Tuesday's game. Matt Shepard and Kirk Gibson replaced them on the stand on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Fox Sports Detroit said: "We are dealing with an internal problem and we will have no other comments at the moment."

The Athletic reports that Shepard and Gibson were brought to "the last minute" and that arrangements to return to Detroit with Impemba, 55, and Allen, 58, were made "to avoid other problems".

The Tigers left Thursday, but open a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Comerica Park on Friday. The team is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1968 World Series champions in the series.

We do not know if Impemba or Allen will work the series.

Impemba and Allen have been the voice of Tigers television since 2003. In 2015, FSD used Kirk Gibson and Jack Morris for some games. Gibson still plays a good game during the season, and Shepard has been named as an announcer in recent years.
