CLEVELAND, Ohio – Tuesday at 4 pm The trade deadline has arrived and passed without Browns general manager John Dorsey moving.

On Monday, at a press conference on the layoffs of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley, Dorsey said he would work on the phone to try to improve the team.

"We're going to turn every rock possible – you know it," he says. "We still have about 24 hours left [until the trade deadline] so we have a lot of time. "

Are there enough rocks to return?

"There are always enough pebbles," he says.

The deadline has passed without Tyrod Taylor or Jamie Collins, despite speculation about both players.

Two receivers were exchanged before the deadline:

* The Broncos sent Demaryius Thomas to Texas for a third-round pick and a seventh-round pick.

"Demaryius has had an incredible race here and we can not thank him enough for all that he represents for the Broncos," said Broncos general manager John Elway in a statement.

* The Lions exchanged their Golden Tates against the Eagles for a third-round pick in 2019. He led the Lions with 517 yards, three touchdowns and 44 receptions.

Several other receivers that were thought to be available were not exchanged: DeSan Jackson from Tampa Bay, DeVante Parker from Miami and Pierre Garcon from San Francisco.

It is not yet known which receivers, if any, Dorsey has attempted to acquire.

Former Browns receiver Terrelle Pryor is also ready to sign as a free agent with the Bills. It was no longer an option for the Browns when Hue Jackson was fired Monday.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe on Sunday also said the Patriots may be interested in buying Collins, but that was not the case. Collins, 29, leads the Browns with 55 tackles and 21 assists. He also forced a fumble and had two sacks.

Collins had also replaced linebacker Joe Schobert, hamstring injury.
