GRIFFITH PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) –
A small brush fire has erupted near the Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park area early Friday.
The acreage is estimated at 30 acres in heavy brush with "steep and very difficult" terrain, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No structures are reported and no injuries are reported. LAFD officials said more than 125 firefighters.
Tall, white feathers of smoke were spotted behind the popular L.A. Zoo as multiple fire engines and at least one aircraft responded to help fight the fire.
Officials said the L.A. Zoo is not open for business. There are no animal evacuation orders in place, zoo staff said they are preparing some animals in case it is needed.
.@LAFD has responded to the fire in Griffith Park and is on the scene. Zoo staff are preparing for some animals for evacuation and hosing down the most vulnerable hillside areas. We will continue to follow the instruction of LAFD.

The blaze erupted by two major burning fires at the Los Angeles-Ventura County border. The Woolsey Fire has charred 8,000 acres and destroyed several homes. It's 0 percent contained.
