A man was arrested at Buckingham Palace on suspicion of owning a Taser.

Security personnel arrested the 38-year-old man as he passed security scanners at the visitors' entrance shortly before 12:45 pm (Pacific Standard Time).

Suspected of possessing a firearm, namely a Taser, he is still in detention.

The Met said the incident is not considered related to terrorism. The palace refused to comment.

Parts of the building, which is the monarch's official residence, are open to the public for 10 weeks each summer.
