Bulls pay tribute to Chicago flag with sharp — very sharp — City Edition jerseys

Now this is how you do a City Edition jersey.

The Bulls on Thursday revealed their City Edition uniforms for the 2018-19 season — and the result is a sharp homage to Chicago’s iconic flag.

Black jerseys provide a canvas for the tribute to the flag, with two light blue stripes and four red stars splashed across the chest. Red numbers outlined in white are underneath and to the viewer’s right, while the arm and neck openings feature blue piping.

The 2018-19 version is a contrast to last season’s uniform, which was white, featured stars on the sides and had a cursive “Chicago” across the chest.

The jerseys — which will be available at the Madhouse Team Store at the United Center and online starting Nov. 9 — are the second black uniforms the Bulls have this season in addition to their traditional red-and-white jerseys.

Other NBA teams unveiled their City Edition jerseys Thursday, including the Nuggets’ throwback to their 1980s look and the Timberwolves paying tribute to Prince with black-and-purple jerseys.
