Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena play in Flashy's new trailer bumblebee, the next Transformers prequel. Steven Spielberg co-produced the action and science-fiction film that will be released on December 21.

The clip opens its doors in a seaside town in California in 1987, where the owner of a scrap yard hands Charlie Watson (Steinfeld) a yellow Volkswagen Beetle for his 18 years. When she gets home, Charlie discovers the true identity of the vehicle as she stretches into the scruffy autobot bumblebee.

Charlie takes Bumblebee after learning that his transforming friend is in danger, and the two men find themselves in the crosshairs of an evil government agency called Sector 7, barred by Burns (Cena). "People can be terrible about things they do not understand," says Charlie. "From now on, the only person you can show you is me."

Travis Knight (Kubo and the two strings) directed bumblebee, which co-stars Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker and Pamela Adlon. Michael Bay, who directed all previous live-action Transformer films, co-producer.
